Emma Morano è stata la donna più anziana del mondo e l’ultima persona vivente certificata come nata nell’Ottocento. Questo ritratto è stato realizzato nel 2013, all’interno della sua casa, durante un incontro intimo e straordinario che ha trasformato la fotografia in memoria storica.

Emma Morano was at the age of 114 years when I took this picture in 2013. At the time of her death she was the oldest living woman in the world and the last living person to have been verified as being born in the 1800s. She accepted for the first time to pose for a photoshoot moving from her chair to the little set I had prepared in her little room. It was an honor for me and a great experience. Emma died in April 2017.
